: GLOBAL CORPORATE TAXATION AND RESOURCES FOR QUALITY PUBLIC SERVICES
The study has been commissioned by Education International Research Institute on behalf of the Council of Global Unions. The EI Research Institute is a separate foundation established by Education International in 2007 to develop the research capacity of EI and its affiliated member organizations. It aims to conduct independent research studies, and also collects and disseminates information on studies relevant for education unions. The research institute offers grants to researchers on key topics decided every year.
The aims of the Institute are to contribute to the right to quality education for all, to enhance the status of teachers and other employees in education, and to promote education in favour of democracy, social justice and peace. In widening and deepening teacher unions` capacity to conduct quality research, the Institute affirms the critical role that research can and should play in any democratic society.
The EI Research Institute wishes to express its gratitude to all contributors to the chapters - Jim Baker, David Brunori, Kimberly Clausing, Kirstine Drew, Jewell Gould, Pierre Habbard, David Robinson, Mechthild Schrooten, as well as Guntars Catlaks, John Evans, Frank Hoffer, James Howard, Michael Kahn, Andy Watt and Kristian Wiese, members of the Taskforce and the Review Panel, and especially to thank Bob Harris, former Senior
Consultant to the General Secretary of EI, the author of the idea and leader of the study, and Laura Figazzolo, Research Consultant of EI Research Institute, who undertook the analytical and editorial work in developing the report.
We also would like to thank the Hans Böckler Stiftung of Germany for the grant without which the study and publication of the report would not have been possible, as well as the National Education Association of the United States and Utdanningsforbundet and Unio of Norway for financial support.
